Job Description: LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a Portland-based organization to hire a Legal Consultant. This role will provide strategic guidance to clients on corporate entity structures, internal governance, succession planning, and mergers and acquisitions. The Legal Consultant will manage a portfolio of client engagements and serve as a trusted advisor throughout complex business transactions and planning initiatives. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and detail-oriented attorney who can clearly communicate complex legal concepts, independently manage multiple projects, and build strong client relationships.
Responsibilities: - Advise clients on corporate entity structures, internal governance, succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, and related business matters
- Draft, review, and revise operating agreements, purchase agreements, contracts, and other transactional documents
- Lead multiple client engagements concurrently, overseeing project milestones, deadlines, and deliverables from initial assessment through completion
- Identify potential legal, transactional, and operational issues and develop practical solutions to address risks and improve workflows
- Build trusted client relationships and communicate complex legal and business concepts clearly and professionally
- Collaborate with other consulting teams to deliver coordinated guidance and ensure a smooth client experience
- Utilize Salesforce, Slack, Smartsheet, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and other platforms to manage projects, workflows, and reporting
- Stay current on applicable laws, regulations, industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive client and business information
Qualifications: - Juris Doctor degree required
- Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction preferred
- 2+ years of legal experience, preferably with a corporate law firm, financial services organization, or consulting firm
- Experience drafting and reviewing corporate agreements and transactional documents
- Knowledge of corporate governance, entity formation, succession planning, or mergers and acquisitions preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely
- Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills
- Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated and capable of independently managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Salesforce, Slack, Smartsheet, or SharePoint is a plus
